Natürlich Energy with Photovoltaik
On June 13th, 2021 we put our 58kWp (145 modules) photovoltaic system into operation. According to calculations, this system should pay for itself in 6-7 years. Since the sun’s rays are very good in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, we can generate more than 60,000 kWh of electrical energy in one year. We use around 140,000kWh of “electricity” in the hotel every year.
With the self-generated energy, 10-12 average 4-person households (2 adults and 2 children) could be completely supplied with electricity for a year. This means we can generate around 40-45% of our electricity needs ourselves.
Thanks to our 22kWh home storage system, we can reduce the amount of electricity fed into the grid and use it ourselves. During the 4 months of the year when the hotel is closed, we are 99% self-sufficient.
Thanks to the 9kW heating element, we can use the excess production during the midday period to heat our domestic water a little. This means we can save a few cubic metres of gas.
* Assumption: 4-person household using around 13 electrical appliances (microwave, washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, two refrigerators, freezer, electric stove, two televisions, three laptops). 190m² living space – without electric water heating for heating and hot water.
